LoveShackFancy Internship
The summer before my Senior year, I had the incredible opportunity to intern in the wholesale department at LoveShackFancy in New York City. Immersed in the vibrant world of fashion, I gained hands-on experience in managing inventory, assisting with sales presentations, and building relationships with retailers. The fast-paced environment of the city added an extra layer of excitement as I collaborated with a talented team to showcase the brand’s whimsical aesthetic. From attending meetings to analyzing sales data, each day was a new adventure that deepened my passion for the fashion industry.
During my internship at LoveShackFancy, I focused on creating aesthetically pleasing sell sheets for retailers, showcasing our latest collections in a visually appealing way. I meticulously curated the layout and design to reflect the brand's whimsical charm, ensuring that each sheet captured the essence of our pieces. Additionally, I utilized RLM software to check warehouse inventory, gaining insights into stock levels and availability. This experience not only sharpened my design skills but also deepened my understanding of inventory management in the wholesale sector, allowing me to better support our retail partners.
Available to Sell
While working for the wholesale department at LoveShackFancy, I was asked to help out with a special project for the visual merchandising team. They had a vision of turning the Sag Harbor location into a sorority in collaboration with their social media sorority campaign. I took the bus out to the Hamptons and worked with the head of the visual merchandising team to plan out how I would begin. I did not use any formal stencil and instead drafted the letters on the plywood freehand, cutting them out with a jigsaw. After the pieces were cut, I attached the support beam with a hinge to make for easy set up and storage.
Hamptons Creative Project
Department Store Merchandising @ Bergdorf Goodman
After
Before
Each Tuesday and Thursday morning I went to Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, and Bloomingdales to merchandise the LoveShackFancy sections. I organized the clothes according to the colors and styles of each pieces, aiming to represent the whimsy of the brand even outside of our showroom.
At each department store, I assessed the rack and took note of styles with fewer than three units. I documented my progress to report back to my team, highlighting damaged items or delayed deliveries of upcoming seasons. I brought new styles out from the stockroom and sized all items to ensure there was an array of sizes on the racks.
